News & Notes
Starting at 8am on March 20, parents of 8th graders must go to the Power School Parent Portal and select their student's classes. You will see the courses recommended by the 8th grade teachers and will have a chance to choose any electives, as well.
The deadline for selecting these courses is April 3rd. See this handout for additional information about course selection.
Also see this presentation explaining 9th grade course selection and scheduling which was delivered to students through their team classes over the past two weeks.
Minuteman High School has asked us to share a great opportunity for their Career Pathway Afterschool Program with you - please check out the link and see the contact info on that page if you have any questions.
Parents of Eighth Grade R.J. Grey Students:
There is still plenty of time to submit a message for the R.J. Grey yearbook wishing your eighth grader love and success as he or she moves on to the high school. The deadline has been extended to this link for the order form with directions or email Vicki Weeks directly for help at firstname.lastname@example.org.. Please click
On Tuesday, November 15th, RJ Grey will bring students interested in learning more about the educational opportunities at Minuteman Regional High School to take a tour of their school. Students who intend to participate need to complete an RJ Grey permission slip available in the 8th Grade Office and submit it back to their counselor by Friday, November 4th. Those students attending the visit are responsible for communicating with their teachers and coordinating any make up work that might need to be completed.
For Boxborough families whose children might be interested in pursuing a technical school route, Minuteman Regional High School will continue to be a school to which they can apply (though not as a student from a member town), so participating in the November 15 tour would still be useful. In addition, Boxborough families may also want to consider other technical school options during application season. Please contact your child’s counselor to learn more about this process.
Click here to visit the page that includes a number of supplemental documents for families as they prepare for the upcoming school year. Families should also expect to receive a packet of information via US Postal Mail by August 12, 2016. The packet being mailed to homes will include information regarding the opening days of school, and directions for updating emergency contact information and accessing team placement information.
Here is the RJ Grey Supply List. We are certainly not wishing our summer away - but this is now available if you find some great deals this summer!
