Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break.  I hope everyone had an enjoyable and meaningful experience with those who joined you on that day.  I had a delicious enough time that my annual flirtation with the treadmill is probably going to start earlier than usual.  If we could somehow convert the daily reading of online news sites and journals into a calorie-burning endeavor, I’d be all set.

Last Wednesday, we had our annual Thanksgiving Assembly, which is always an event that highlights RJ Grey students.  Many thanks to our student speakers - Grace Takacs, Gloria Ho, and Olivia Blaufuss, for crafting very thoughtful reflections and messages about Thanksgiving.  Additionally, thanks go to our Student Council officers for their comments and planning of the event, and to members of our Band and Chorus for their performances.

This year’s yearbook went on sale last week, and will continue to be on sale through December 20th.  This year, families can choose to order yearbooks online by going to  www.yearbookordercenter.com and entering our school code -- 13545. For those who might prefer using a paper order form, please fill out the form that was distributed to students last week, and send it in with check or cash to the main office (attn: Vicki Weeks).  If you need another copy of the paper order form, you can download it by clicking here.

Three calendar-related items for this week: (1) Report cards will be sent home with students later this week.  I’ll send out a note to families on the day it happens; (2) confirmation of conference appointments will start being emailed back to families - with those scheduled on December 17th receiving them first; and (3) most tryouts for our Winter athletic season begins this week (some are today).  For information about schedules and forms, please visit the Athletics page of the RJ Grey website by clicking here.  Please remember that students won’t be able to participate in tryouts without an updated “Green Form”.

Finally, a quick reminder that RJ Grey has a Twitter feed.  We started the year with a whopping 24 followers, giving the Kardashians a run for their money.  We are now at 52 followers, and looking to grow and expand our following.  If you happen to use Twitter as one medium for sharing and receiving information, please consider signing up for our Twitter feed by clicking here.

Have a great week, everyone.

Cheers,

Andrew
